The Sassy Spoon, Nariman Point, Mumbai

Where Hauz Khas meets Nariman Point, with oodles of pink sassiness

Where to go- The Sassy Spoon, Express Towers, Nariman Point

Chefs- Irfan Pabaney and Rachel Goenka

How to get there- Just ask for Nariman Point. The tall white Express Towers are hard to miss. The Sassy Spoon is on the ground floor.

What we reviewed- Whoever has been to Hauz Khas in Delhi must definitely be intrigued by the ambiance of The Village, which attributes a rustic yet trendy charm to it. The Sassy Spoon, with its upturned lights, pink chairs and a dim-lit romantic allure definitely reminds you of all the quirks that state and define Hauz Khas, and bundles it up as a cozy, snug eatery.

The place flaunts pink in prominent yet not so disturbing ways. All thanks to the dimly lit setting, the restaurant is ideal to wind up after work or enjoy a private dinner with the family. It can be safely concluded that with high ceilings, flowing curtains and an earthy, warm ambiance, The Sassy Spoon is one of Bombay’s most beautiful eateries.

Note- They have separate lunch and dinner menus. Our review is based on the dinner menu.

Cost for 2- Rs 2000, excluding alcohol

What to order- Start with the Very Berry Khatta, moving on the vegetarian Cous Cous salad and Tenderloin Chicken. Their Lemon Buerre Spaghetti must strictly not be missed. Do try the Cajun Prawns and Grilled Manali Trout.

Who to go with- We saw a ladies’ reunion, a romantic date and a family of three, all enjoying some dinner and conversations, casually sitting next to each other. Needless to say, the fine dining place can be visited by all.

What’s for dessert- Prince Noir, Raspberry and Chocolate Mousse and Tiramisu Undone

What to do around- The place is next to a lot of major landmarks which define Bombay. Strolls along Marine Drive, introspecting at Nariman Point or catching a play at NCPA are all the options. Or if you really have a lot of money to dine at Trident, please give me a call!

Would we go back- Well, the interiors have been so beautifully curated, that we found it difficult to leave even after 2 hours. Since we couldn’t slouch back on their al fresco area, we would definitely go back for that!
